Other Notes
Depicts a figure on heathland running from a gaseous green mist in an 'imaginary landscape' with tendrils in a thick, caked-on; icy white goauche. Scarce in commerce.
Her biographer comments on how art from her later period was recognizable by their “...explosive colour in collision with a subject matter that often reflected her distressed inner states” (p-165 Jeremy Reed -A Stranger on Earth, The Life and Work of Anna Kavan, 2006). Reed also notes that this under-recognized writer and artist never signed or dated her work right throughout her life.
