Description / Condition
Folio. (41 x 29 cm.). Elaborate engraved title, pp.[x] and 102 full page engraved plates of horse bits on very good thick paper. Contemporary vellum, green edges. One additional manuscript illsutartion tipped in. Binding chaffed at extremities, mild dampstain to a few later leaves.
*The illustrations are divided into two sections describing bits used in Germany and those in Spain and Turkey. Not in the Mellon Collection.
