To His Grace the Duke of Newcastle This Print of The Return from Shooting Is by Permission dedicated by his Grace's most obliged & most humble Servant Francis Wheatley., Publish'd as the Act directs Jan.y. 10. 1792, by Joseph Barney Tottenham Court Road opposite the Chapel. 1792

Stipple. Plate: 670 x 540mm, (26½ x 21¼") very large margins.
An exterior scene showing the Henry Pelham-Clinton, 2nd Duke of Newcastle (1720-1794) and Colonel Lichfield returning from a days shooting with their dogs, including the clumber spaniels bred by the Duke's gamekeeper William Mansell, who is also depicted. The Duke of Newcastle's Nottinghamshire residence, Clumber Park, after which the dogs are named, can be seen in the far distance.
