Cold Comfort Farm (With The Original First Issue Wrapper) , Longmans. 1932

The First UK printing published by Longmans in 1932.The BOOK is in VERY GOOD++ condition.Light pushing to the spine ends with a tiny nick at the upper spine.Edges are lightly faded.Mild rubbing along spine folds.Toning to the text block but the pages remain clean.Free from erasures,inscriptions and markings. Light toning and spotting to the end papers as expected.A tight copy.The WRAPPER is complete and now presents in FINE condition.It is the correct first issue wrapper which has undergone restoration and repairs by a leading expert restorer: Rubbed areas,the lower third of the spine and the upper spine end have been restored and repaired (See image of original wrapper).It has also been cleaned.The wrapper now looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover.Housed in a custom solander box.The author's iconic first novel which established her reputation and which went on to win the literary Prix Femina √Čtranger. It has bequeathed a phrase that has passed into common usage: 'something nasty in the woodshed'. Extremely scarce as a first edition in wrapper - The first copy we have handled to date.
